What Are Isochronic Tones

January 1st, 2010

Fundamentally, Isochronic Tones work in a similar fashion to binaural beats. As with binaural beats, the brain is coaxed into specific rhythms — except Isochronic Tones are cutting edge technology, whereas binaural beats have been around for more than 100 years.

As you know, the brain emits cycles of electrical energy, referred to as brain waves. The higher the frequency of the brainwave, the more alert and active the brain is. Also, the more anxious you are.

The lower the brainwave frequency, the more calm and restful you are.

Frequency range Name Usually associated with:
> 40 Hz Gamma waves Higher mental activity, including perception, problem solving, fear, and consciousness
13–40 Hz Beta waves Active, busy or anxious thinking and active concentration, arousal, cognition
7–13 Hz Alpha waves Relaxation (while awake), pre-sleep and pre-wake drowsiness
4–7 Hz Theta waves Dreams, deep meditation, REM sleep
< 4 Hz Delta waves Deep dreamless sleep, loss of body awareness

(The precise boundaries between ranges vary among definitions, and there is no universally accepted standard.)

So, it follows that if you can alter your brainwave frequency, your state of consciousness would be altered and induce things like relaxation, creativity and deep meditation by inducing the associated brainwave pattern.

The coaxing of your brain into a specific brainwave frequency is called brainwave entrainment. This is what Isochronic Tones do.

Isochronic Tones vs. Binaural Beats

With binaural beats, two distinct frequencies are delivered to each ear. The difference between these frequencies is the frequency that the brain will be entrained at, even though it is below the threshold of hearing. Binaural beats require headphones to work correctly.

Isochronic tones are a more powerful type of brainwave entrainment, utilizing equal intensity tones, increasing the pulse speed, and synchronizing your brain with the rhythm. Isochronics use a distinct and clean wave form which is designed to harmonize with the brain much more efficiently. Thus, isochrincs can more exactly target the desired brain wave frequency.

And, I am living proof that it really does work.

So, if you want to achieve Theta Meditation, for example, you would create an isochronic tone in the 4 to 7 Hz range. If you wanted to want to relax and concentrate on something, you would use a target the Alpha wave range, around 8 Hz.

Skillfully constructed, you can laser target the isochronic to create a wide range of altered states of consciousness. And that is what Jim McElwee at the Unexplainable Store does so well.

December 27th, 2009

The best source, by far, that I have found for downloading quality isochronic tones is The Unexplainable Store.

Here is why:

First, their vastly superior quality. Isochronic Tones from The Unexplainable Store are very high quality. Guaranteed even, to induce altered state of consciousness.

At The Unexplainable Store, they create all their own Isochronic Tones from scratch.

Second, the huge variety of laser targeted Isochronic Tones, each created for specific brain wave entrainment. For example, there are specific Isochronic Tones for meditation enhancement, astral projection, inducing sleep, for anxiety, creativity, confidence, energy lift, motivation, prosperity, stress release and so forth. Each is designed to induce a specific brain wave pattern.

The fact is, that while brainwave frequencies are generally broken into four categories, Beta Waves, Alpha Waves, Theta Waves and Delta Waves, there are actually many sub-categories. The Isochronic Tones downloads from the Unexplainable Store are carefully targeted at specific sub-categories.

And when it comes to inducing altered states of consciousness, Jim McElwee is an absolute expert! You have got to try the laser targeted tones for Lucid Dreaming, Astral Projection and Theta Meditation. Guaranteed to work!

Third, they are very enjoyable to listen to. These Isochronic Tones are accompanied by pleasing music, water sounds, and so forth.

Fourth is the mp3 downloads are very reasonably priced.

I really recommend you check them out. If nothing else, do sign up for their newsletter and get a free 10 minute general sample that is excellent in itself. (Great newsletter too, by the way.)

I have had great success achieving altered states of consciousness with The Unexplainable Store and you will too.

Isochronic Tones — How They Helped Me

December 21st, 2009

For me, Isochronic Tones were a true God send.

These tones have had a major impact on my life.

You see, I have suffered for decades from severe anxiety disorders, along with manic-depression.  I have been on 17 different medications to try and control these issues.  Sleep has been a real problem for me.  Even with powerful sleeping pills.

That is until I came across Isochronic Tones and binaural beats from The Unexplainable Store.

They are amazing!

Just using their laser focused Isochronic Tones for sleep, I can now get to sleep within an hour and for the first time feel rested when I wake up.  And, I am waking up hours earlier than before!

If you are familiar with EMDR, which I also highly recommend, the affect seems to be similar.  I am really thinking there is a connection.  The effectiveness of EMDR appears to come from getting the two sides of the brain to work together.  Binaural beats and Isochronic Tones also accomplish this same thing, synchronizing the hemispheres of the brain.

There has got to be a connection.  I hope someone studies it.

With EMDR, you use bilateral stimulation, such as alternating lights or sounds from side to side while meditating on whatever issue, such a PTSD issue, and it seems to allow the brain to chew up the issue and file it away.

I don’t know if  these tones will have the dramatic impact on you like they did me.

But, hey, it can’t hurt to try!

Explore The Unexplainable Store and see for yourself.  If nothing else, get their free sample.
